Draw Betting Explained

A draw bet wins if the match finishes level after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, whatever the score: 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 and so on. In the standard 1X2 market the draw is the "X". Extra time and penalty shootouts do not count, so a cup tie that is level at full time wins a draw bet even if one team goes through later.

Why draws pay longer odds

Draws are the least common of the three results in most matches, so they usually carry the longest odds. Prices often sit around 3.00 to 3.60, implying a probability of roughly 28% to 33%. That means even the most likely draws fail more often than they land, and returns come from the higher price.

What tends to produce draws

  • Two evenly matched teams, close together in the table.
  • Defensive sides that concede and score few goals.
  • Matches where a point suits both teams.
  • Leagues and fixtures with a history of level results.

Managing the risk

Because draws lose more often than they win, staking sensibly matters. Many bettors keep draw stakes small and judge results over a long run of selections. If you want protection rather than a pure draw, double chance (1X or X2) covers the draw plus one team.

How to read our draw tips

Each tip shows the odds, the implied probability and recent form for both teams. A probability around 30% is normal for a draw, so judge these selections over many matches, not one weekend.

Common questions

Does a 0-0 count as a draw? Yes. Any level score at full time wins a draw bet, including 0-0.

What is a score draw? A draw where both teams score, such as 1-1 or 2-2. Some bookmakers offer it as a separate market.

Why do draws feel harder to predict? Draws depend on neither team finding a winner, which a single late goal can change. That is why they carry long odds and lose more often than they win.

Please bet responsibly. Only stake what you can afford to lose, never chase losses, and remember that betting is for adults aged 18 and over.
