Both Teams to Score (BTTS / GG) Explained

A both teams to score bet, also called BTTS or GG ("goal goal"), wins if each team scores at least one goal. The final result does not matter: 1-1, 2-1 and 3-2 all win, while any result where one side fails to score, such as 0-0, 2-0 or 0-3, loses. The opposite bet, BTTS No, is often called NG.

How the bet is settled

Only goals in the regular 90 minutes plus stoppage time count. An own goal counts for the team it is credited to, so an own goal can win a BTTS bet. Extra time and penalty shootouts are ignored.

Odds and probability

BTTS prices commonly sit somewhere around 1.60 to 2.10. Odds of 1.75 imply a probability of about 57%, so even a well-chosen BTTS tip loses a significant share of the time, often because one team simply has an off day in front of goal.

What points towards both teams scoring

  • Both sides scoring regularly in recent matches.
  • Both defences conceding regularly.
  • Evenly matched teams who both like to attack.
  • Previous meetings between the clubs with goals at both ends.

When BTTS is riskier

A dominant favourite against a weak attack, a team missing key forwards, or a side happy to defend for a draw are classic reasons for one team to fail to score.

How to read our BTTS tips

Each prediction shows the odds, the implied probability and recent form for both teams, so you can see at a glance whether both sides have been finding the net.

Common questions

Does a 1-0 win count for BTTS? No. Both teams must score at least once. A 1-0 or 2-0 result loses a BTTS Yes bet.

What is BTTS and over 2.5? A combined bet where both teams must score and the match must have three or more goals. It pays more, but both conditions must win.

Is BTTS settled at half-time? No. Standard BTTS is settled on the full match, so a goal in the second half still counts.

Please bet responsibly. Only stake what you can afford to lose, never chase losses, and remember that betting is for adults aged 18 and over.
